Austin is so talented! I ruined my dresser with acetone and tried painting over it myself… then I came to my senses and had him refinish it in a dusty lavender color. He was so responsive, professional, talented and kind. We worked together to create the look and feel and I could not be happier with how it turned out. It’s a piece of artwork! Highly recommend.

FAQ’s:

  • How long does a piece take to be refinished/painted?

Most pieces leave the shop about 4 weeks after they arrive. Smaller pieces can sometimes be quicker; larger ones can sometimes take longer. We are a shop of only three employees total, so please be patient with us as we strive to provide the highest quality product possible.

  • What is your process for refinishing?

The process depends on the design. Painted pieces receive a thorough cleaning, sanding, imperfections filled, multiple coats of primer (sanding between coats), and multiple coats of industrial lacquer paint using professional spray equipment. We are very attentive to the details. They matter!

Refinished/stained pieces are stripped and/or sanded down to raw wood, possibly stained, and multiple durable clear coats are added (sanding between coats) for a factory finish.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash, checks, Venmo, and credit cards (with an added 3% transaction fee).

  • Do you deliver or pick up?

Yes! If you’re local to the Denver/Front Range area, I can do a pickup or delivery for a small fee depending on your location.

  • What if I don’t know exactly what I want? That’s okay! If you send me some photos of the space and room you are working with, I can get a feel for the decor and make suggestions about how to proceed with your piece’s design scheme. Photos of pieces you like from Pinterest are also welcome!

  • How much will it cost?

The price is very dependent on the size of the piece and the amount of detail that it has, as well as the finish you’re trying to achieve. The more detail a piece has and the larger it is, the higher the price due to more time spent sanding. The best way to get a more accurate quote is to email us directly here with photos and dimensions. Options such as painting with multiple colors, high gloss finishes, stripping previously painted finishes, faux finishes, restoration services, adding wallpaper to the inside of a hutch, changing out hardware, extensive repair work, extra large items, etc, might have additional fees.

Do you already have a Styled by Austin piece that you no longer need or have room for? We’ll buy it back!
